I returned to the front desk and requested a second opinion but was refused and was told to go somewhere else if I didn't like the diagnosis.

Thank you!

I've been thoroughly pleased with the patience, concern and care I've received from Dr. Mitch Grunsky and his staff. He listens to what the patient has to say and has stayed on top of my medical issues for the past 9-years or so. I decided to give Colonial Family Practice a chance to care for me after I got frustrated by the inadequate care I received from the Veteran's Administration.

After returning to my vehicle, and speaking with my sister who is also an NP, she assured me that I didn't have what I was diagnosed with and recommended that I be seen by someone else who wouldn't assume all men in uniform have STD's.

Was seen at 308 West Westmart today. I will have to be seen again tomorrow and again for a follow up. On a toenail/foot fungus. Not the best first impression, but I will see if that changes. The woman at the front desk was very nice and so was the woman who took my vitals. The NP was a bit rude. But being that I have attended Hampton University school of Nursing and Goodwin College with a degree in healthcare and worked at a few nursing homes and at Hartford Hospital myself. I know sometimes we have our days. Sooo I will give this place another shot. Hopefully everyone is mindful of how they speak TO patients, mindful of how they speak ABOUT patients. And remembers to keep the pitch of their VOICE at a private volume, and remembers the HIPPA privacy laws once they open the door and are out in the hallway speaking. Some patients dont want the whole office and waiting room knowing their business/issue. And some patients dont take too kindly to being embarrassed by the doctor/NP they are seeing. PRIVACY is Very important in this line of work as well as LISTENING, SENSITIVITY, and UNDERSTANDING towards your patients.

Stay away from this terrible place. Came in on a Saturday to get a DOT physical and the wait was forever an hour to be exact after i been reloacted to the room waiting on the doctor. The assistant was rude as ever. They made me pay beforehand and end result the doctor didnt give me my med card certificate which is the main form i need. Claiming the system is down. Its a Thursday and they still cant get in touch with the doctor to fax over one form i paid for not informing me that this doctor only works on the weekend. Im out of work due to not getting paperwork. STAY AWAY

The next medical treatment facility performed various tests, ensured me that I didn't have scabies and gave me a steroid shot. The rash cleared in two days.

Hello!

I visited this facility a few weeks ago after developing a spreading rash. I was seen and diagnosed with scabies by an NP without any tests being performed. She prescribed me a scabies rinse and sent me on my way.

Colonial was quick to give me an improper diagnosis and who knows how much worse my rash would have gotten if I had listened to the NP who rushed me out the door and refused to speak with me again.

Great Medical office. It's a large facility so there may be a bit of a wait. They are dealing with sick people and therefore things can happen to require a bit of a wait. However the practitioners here are top notch. They take time and really listen to you. I have not used the urgent care side so I am not sure about that particular area, but if it's staffed by the same doctors, and I am fairly certain they are... again worth a wait to see them. The physicians and staff are nice and knowledgeable. The front office personal are dealing with a large influx of patients that don't feel well, and therefore are not always nice. So they have their ups and downs. As doctors offices go... this is a very good practice.
