This VA facility should be closed. Both the building and staff need to be replaced! These 'doctors' are a joke and don't care about patients' needs. The receptionist and appointment clerk are unprofessional and rude. Lastly, the location is UNSAFE. Thanks VA for nothing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is the absolute worst VA clinic I have ever been to. Everything has been guessed, nothing ever actually checked. Have MRI showing double curvature of spine, bone spurs, syranx, and now add that my knee cap is grazing the thigh bone incorrectly. Pain is immense everyday, however the only thing I get is " you have degenerative disease, you need physical therapy." Yeah been to therapy before, and degenerative disease is really a general term because they don't want anything in my file. Parking here is actually quite terrible, a few offices opened in the same area. Good luck getting a parking spot. Building is a bit ran down. They need a new clinic with fresh doctors in here. At this rate I'll be hunched over with my head to my knees and missing a knee cap all while being told I have degenerative disease.
I've been going there for 2 years now. Parking is bad in the morning due to 3 other Clinical office's using parking spaces assigned to them. Afternoon appointment not a problem to find a space.
Need new and caring docs!! Clerks and volunteers are good, but cant do too much within the help of the docs or lack there of! All the veterans we have in Sumter and surrounding areas, you would think the VA would have a bigger building with more docs!
I am shocked and appalled at the treatment of patients at this facility, now with 2 different doctors. I experienced it firsthand today while accompanying my husband to his appointment. My husband was diagnosed with fibromyalgia by a head of a rheumatology department many years ago. Because he did not describe it in proper medical jargon it was dismissed by the doctor. He had back surgery July 13, 2015 and both doctors want him off of all pain medication before the recovery time of approx. 1 year. He has osteoarthritis in the the upper back, along with bone spurs and no discus between 5 vertebrae for which there is no cure. This is another source of pain. Yes, he got angry during the appointment because the doctor would not listen. She was upset because he had not done any physical therapy since his surgery - NONE has been prescribed by the surgeon (he was a civilian surgeon)In this case the doctor had security throw him out. I was in the room the entire time and witnessed the rude treatment of the doctor. We are from WA State and were never treated in this way until we came to this clinic.
