The first time I went to get my permit, we forgot my birth certificate and social... So we went back again... failed it...went back again thinking they had my birth certificate on file... which they should've, she asks me "do you have your birth certificate and social. My face scrunched up." I basically said, should you already have that on file...she said "we don't ". So thats that. Thats the thired time going their and I've been trying to get my permit for a month. The people are very rude and unprofessional at the sumter dmv. Never going back their again...so Imma try the one in Columbia. SUMTER JUST SUCKS... AND ALL OF THE PEOPLE IN IT!!!
Is there a website that I am just not seeing? Tried to call several times, message says call back because operators are busy. No option for holding. A WEBSITE with information on what to bring for a beginner's driving permit would be great so I don't drive 20 mins to DMV, without proofs of address, and have to leave with a disappointed 15-year-old.
I drove up to an almost full parking lot and then had to go through a short line to the screening desk. I figured it would be a long morning and I was pleasantly surprised. While I did not specifically time it, I only spent 10 or 15 minutes there. Great job moving people through!
I'm giving them 5 stars the lady at the check in was nice. AJ was my rep he was extremely nice and very friendly but, the guy who take the picture need better customer service skills. I was in and out in a timely manner. Thanks Sumter DMW
I am pleasantly surprised by my visit today. There was absolutely no wait time. No sooner than my number printed, I was being called to the counter. I was attended by a very friendly and helpful young lady who made my visit a pleasant one. All in all , this is not a visit to be dreaded, but one that is not bad at all to return to.
