i gave this business a 1 because i went in this location and bought a car that had problems. when i told them about it before i bought it they said they would take it to the dealership where the car came from to get it fully serviced. i called the dealership after i signed the papers and the vehicle didn't even go there. i had to fix everything my self and they didn't even care. james is the salesguy and honestly he is just not in the right age frame to be selling cars because he just doesn't understand what a big purchase this is for people. and to lie and say that your car is going to the dealership to set your mind at rest and not go it makes it more stressful. they have someone in the back doing the work on the cars and they are only rigging them til you leave the lot. then it will fall apart and since they don't offer a warranty you are responsible to pay for these repairs.

Please please please do not buy a car from Midstate Auto in Sumter. They will sell you a bad car and will not take ownership of it. Mike and Henry D, will seem like the nicest people to deal with, but make a purchase and leave the lot, you will want to shut this place down. They sell lemons, period. They have a chop shop attached to the lot where they sell cars to patch up their work. Within 1 month, my breaks went out, two hoses busted on the car while driving, the sensors started going crazy, electrical issues, and the list continues on a DTS Cadillac 2008. When the car became disabled I was advised by Mike-owner to take to the Cadillac dealer I'm Sumter, and they would take care of it. Needless to say, they hit me with a bill and told me the car was ready to be picked up and of story! We were told by Henry, "man if I knew the car was bad, we wouldn't have sold it to you". The rating for this company is horrible! This is a true story from June 2016, and still dealing with them to this day.

They will fix half of the problem not all the problem.

If i could give these people a negative rating i would. The car was you typical used car minor issues no real warranty. No big deal. The sales manager is horrible and the saleman is a spineless troll. They said i could take my car to their mechanic i just didnt trust i would get a quality repair. i paid to have the car fixed took them the receipt and before i could ask for the money they blasted on me we got into a shouting match they are so unprofessional. They could careless about you once they get your money. These two people are by far the worst two individuals ive ever delt with in all my 41 years of living. You can find a average used car anywhere they dont offer anything special. The thing that sets them apart is the horrible service, their willingness to disrespect and degrade you. They have no intrest in listening to you they assume what you want and react. So sorry i did business with these people.

I bought an escalade from here in October. I've had nothing but problems with it since. Their engine warranty isnt worth a dime. I brought the car back before the warranty was up after check engine lights and service traction control lights came on. They took it to "their mechanic" that said the sensors needed to be reset. The sensors came back on again after the warranty and same said mechanic told them that the sensors needed to be replaced. So midstate made me pay half for the work. I got the suv into Cadillac service center in town after the lights kept coming on after I paid over $300 to have "sensors fixed" and what do you know, I needed a new engine. Not to mention the sunroof was dry rotted, the back up sensor harness was Jerry rigged and spliced and needed to be replaced, and after a light went out on my headlight, the Cadillac mechanics discovered that my front bumper was held together with WOOD SCREWS. Yup, wood screws... Like you would put a back deck together with. Since October I've paid almost $12,000 in repairs for this car because they screwed me over on the engine warranty and sold me a crap car. Not to mention they knew we were a military family, my spouse was deploying and my car has spent more time in the service center and body shop of Cadillac of Sumter than it has on the road or at my house.
